3x a candle long – about nothing (25-35 min.)
This performance is about the constant change, the transformation and dissolution of matter as well as the change of physicality and expression. While the first candle burns, Gisela Hochuli lets a flame eat the thread of a yarn. During the duration of the second candle Gisela Hochuli lights silk papers. These float into the air, burn and fall down as ash rain. Gisela Hochuli rolls in the ashes until all the ashes stick to her clothes. To the third burning candle, she begins to dance, listening to an inner rhythm, and after a while asks the audience to dance along.
