Snowpiece (20 min.)
Inspired by the floating ice floes on the sea in Helsinki, Gisela Hochuli performs with a block of snow ice that she found in front of the gallery. In the room, it becomes an art sculpture. Gisela Hochuli takes it and leads it through the gallery, sitting with it on the window sill, as if it were her buddy, puts it on her head, dripping the meltwater over her face. Through time and actions, he takes on other forms, becomes a handbag, turns into a lot of snowballs that slide across the floor, into snow hailstones that sound rhythmically in the moving hollow hand. Finally, Gisela Hochuli rolls around in the slush and soon there is nothing left but some moisture on the floor and clothes.
